Agrarian Chamber of Ukraine (AAP) suggested that Ukrainian ports in a single European system of transporting grain. This was reported in the press service of the AAP.

According to the report, such an initiative by the President of AAP Dmitri Berezovsky at the 36 th meeting of representatives of Chambers of Agriculture Visegrad Four countries (Hungary, Poland, Slovakia, Czech Republic) and Ukraine as an observer in the Slovakian town of Poprad, October 7-8, 2009. The Forum supported this idea, as reflected in the final communique.

According to the AAP, the European Union in 2010, intends to pursue a common policy on handling grain cargoes in European ports to reduce the cost of transportation costs. This task requires the solution of complex problems, including in setting the rates for the delivery, storage, loading and unloading grain at the ports to create equal conditions for all EU farmers. Particularly relevant to the topic of Hungary, Slovakia and the Czech Republic is not landlocked.

Ukraine proposed to include in a single EU transport system in the first stage of Reni and Izmail port, - said Dmitry Berezovsky. According to him, a possible turnover of grain from the EU via these two transport the item is estimated at around 1 million tonnes in marketing year.

This will allow the EU to reduce the cost of transporting and handling grain for export, - said president of AAP.

According to him, this proposal is accepted and will be forwarded for consideration in the EU. It is important that the same treatment received and the Government of Ukraine. If the Cabinet of Ministers, the AAP and the Agrarian Chamber of the Visegrad Four countries will act in unison, then the probability of inclusion of Ukrainian ports into a single transport system, the EU is quite high, - said Dmitry Berezovsky.
