Friday, January 8, the stock markets of Latin America have demonstrated mixed dynamics. Despite the fact that in the U.S. indices finished the session with slight increase, Brazilian and Mexican markets are sensitive to the adverse reaction data for the U.S. labor market - employment in non-agricultural sectors declined, while the figure was expected unchanged. This unemployment rate remained at 10%. In the sector of air transport observed the rally thanks to the positive statistics on passenger traffic for December.
As a result of trading a key index of Brazil Bovespa has decreased by 0,27% to level at 70 262.70 points. The Mexican Bolsa fell by 0,52%, while Argentina”s Merval lost 1.54%. In closed session plussis markets of Chile, Colombia, Venezuela and Peru.
After a rather weak data on U.S. labor market shares of oil giant Petroleo Brasileiro fell 0.5%. Shares petrochemical producer Ultrapar Participacoes left in a minus on 0,4%.
Leading manufacturer of iron ore Vale added 0,6%, bringing the week”s gains to nearly 8%. Another company of the same industry MMX Mineracao e Metalicos has progressed by 0,8% against the background of what analysts Itau Unibanco raised its stock rating to “market level” to “best market” and noted the attractiveness of MMX as an object for sale.
Brazil”s largest pay-TV operator Net Servicos de Comunicacao lost 3.4% after analysts BTG Pactual lowered the rating of its shares, and noted the decrease in sales for October and November.
Largest airline Tam strengthened by 3,7%, and the second largest air carrier Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes has increased by 4,8%. Level load Gol flights in the past month increased to 76% compared to 65% over the same period last year. Other important indicators of the efficiency of air travel also improved.
At the auctions in the market looked better than Chile industrialists. In particular, shares of leading exporter of fertilizers Soquimich went up by 2,8%, and the producer of iron ore and steel CAP flew by 4,5%.
LAN Airlines, moved by 1,7%, infected optimism of the Brazilian air transportation sector.
Chilean industrial conglomerate Copec, which has the greatest weight in the index, gained strength at 0,8%.
